Guidelines for Student Athletic Eligibility

School Counselors are willing to advise students on athletic eligibility, but ultimately it is the responsibility of the student and family to ensure student's meet eligibility requirements.  Please visit the websites below for additional information.

High School Eligibility

In order to be eligible, students in grades 9, 10, 11, and 12 must be currently enrolled and must have been enrolled in school the immediate preceding grading period, and receiving passing grades during that grading period in subjects that earn a minimum of 5.0 credits per year toward graduation. Additional information can be obtained from the OHSAA website at: www.ohsaa.org/eligibility

College Eligibility

To be eligible for Div. 1 or II college athletics a student must register with the NCAA Eligibility Center. It is the student/parent responsibility to be sure that all requirements are met. Please visit the Eligibility Center's website at: https://web3.ncaa.org/ecwr3/ for full details. Another helpful resource is http://freerecruitingwebinar.org. Students and parents should meet with their counselor and coach to discuss eligibility requirements beginning in the sophomore year. Course checks should also be made during the junior year and before scheduling for the senior year.
